Fly Baby Fly...

This 747 is sitting in a boneyard in Mojave, CA waiting to be dismantled and recycled at the end of its useful life. On May 23rd, 2012 the area experienced extreme winds of 70+ miles per hour and reports of gusts up to 100 near the pass due to a low pressure zone. Without the weight of its engines and with its landing flaps deployed, the slightly tail heavy 747 tries to take to the skies one last time.

The next day the plane was found to have also rotated about 45 degrees from its original position. The same wind storm damaged many rooftops, cut power and sent huge clouds of sand and dust billowing into the sky. Mojave will occasionally experience this type of wind storm due to geography.

Toddler Crosses Intersection Like A Boss

Surveillance camera footage from Eastern China reveals a parent's worst nightmare: A toddler crossing a busy intersection on his toy scooter during rush hour. The three year old boy on the scooter drove against the traffic before being spotted a policeman who led him to safety.

The boy's grandfather, who looks after his grandson, while his parents go to work, said that the child went missing when he went to the bathroom. When asked if scared the boy replied no. Luckily for him, his curiosity did not injure him, the boy rode away unfazed from his brush with death.

Saturn, Venus and Mercury Alignment with Pyramids

Planetary alignment that will take place on Dec 3, 2012 is dead-on alignment with the Pyramids at Giza. Night Sky in Giza, Egypt on December 3, 2012, local time… one hour before sunrise compared with the Pyramids at Giza. Image generated by Starry Night Pro (the same view of the planets can be obtained using any other astronomy program, e.g. Stellarium.

Also, it should be noted, that planetary convergence only happens every 2,737 years, and its different for at least 2 more cycles running the program forward… and doesn’t happen again for over 28,000 YEARS if you run that program backwards in time…

Ingush Bride

The Ingush (Ingush: ГIалгIай Ghalghai, pronounced [ˈʁalʁaɪ]) are a native ethnic group of the North Caucasus, mostly inhabiting the Russian republic of Ingushetia. They refer to themselves as Ghalghai (галгай). The Ingush are predominantly Sunni Muslims and speak the Ingush language.

Dzurdzuk is the legendary ancestor of all modern Nakh peoples (although the origin of the Batsbi is still disputed), including the Ingush and Chechens, who are closely related linguistically. The Georgian name is Glivi / Gligvi.. Ancient authors (Strabo) spoke about the Gargars.

The Ingush possess a varied culture of traditions, legends, epics, tales, songs, proverbs, and sayings. Music, songs and dance are particularly highly regarded. Popular musical instruments include the dachick-panderr (a kind of balalaika), kekhat ponder (accordion, generally played by girls), mirz ponder (a three-stringed violin), zurna (a type of oboe), tambourine, and drums.

Enough with the documentary, today, we have a look at Ingush bride as she prepare for her wedding. Make sure you like Caucasian girl before you read the rest of this post...

Incredible Images of Mars

In this undated image provided by NASA, Mars Rover Opportunity catches its own late-afternoon shadow in a view eastward across Endeavour Crater on Mars. The rover used a panoramic camera between about 4:30 and 5:00 p.m. local Mars time to record images taken through different filters and combined into this mosaic view. Most of the component images were recorded during the 2,888th Martian day, or sol, of Opportunity's work on Mars, which corresponds to March 9, 2012 on Earth.

The view is presented in false color to make some differences between materials easier to see, such as the dark sandy ripples and dunes on the crater's distant floor. Opportunity has been studying the western rim of Endeavour Crater since arriving there in August 2011.

Stepping Feet

Check out these traveling feet or block if you want to call it. One may think they tend to step out of phase between each other but in reality their movement is always constant, synch and parallel. This only becomes obvious whenever the black and white grid disappears.  Remarkable illusion...

2012 Honda CR-V

To celebrate the launch of the all-new 2012 CR-V, Honda brought Ferris Bueller's Day Off back in a big game commercial. Honda cast Matthew Broderick as himself, skipping out on a day of acting work and living it up in his all-new CR-V.

Relive movie history with Honda's fresh twist and wonderful homage to this '80s classic.

Colorful Images Of Brazil

Brazil, a growing, multicultural nation of nearly 200 million people, is preparing to host two huge international events: the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Brazilians face numerous challenges, building many new structures and the infrastructure to support them, while attending to existing challenges and cleaning up before the world comes to visit. Brazil is also huge (the largest country in the southern hemisphere), and its ecological diversity ranges from dense urban spaces to forested mountains, vast plains to sparkling beaches.

It's impossible to sum up a country in a single photo essay, so take this as just a sample of recent scenes from around Brazil.

Creepy Stereographic Drawings

These creepy and dizzying illustration are the awesome art by illustrator Dain Fagerholm. Dain is a Seattle-based artist who refers to his creepy animated arts as Stereographic Drawings.

For information stereographic images is also recognized as two parallel still visuals, varying only slightly in angle, that are meant to be viewed in such a way that the mind combines the two to create a 3D image. Stereographic images have existed for hundreds of years as a 3D illustrative technique and in this method, artist tricks the eye with two parallel images captured with a minor difference in perspective to be shown at a close range.

Dain initially sketches with colorful markers or pens and then converts it into stereographic GIFs, enabling his two dimensional drawings to become three dimensional, moving images. Working in ink and markers, Dain's unearthly monsters and gem-wielding creatures appear like sketches that have leapt out of a paper into the third dimension images.

The dual perspective technique, displayed as a gif, is especially effective at enlivening these otherworldly beasts. Creepy...

Push The Red Button

To launch the high quality TV channel TNT in Belgium TNT placed a big red push button on an average Flemish square of an average Flemish town. A sign with the text "Push to add drama" invited people to use the button. And then waited...

When people push the button, the square erupted in chaos, as actors appeared out of nowhere and flung themselves into scenes ripped from medical and legal dramas (and melodramas). At the end, a giant banner was unfurled on a building side that read: "Your daily dose of drama. TNT." The clip has been a stunning success, and has become the second-most-shared ad of all time, behind Volkswagen's "The Force."

Always push the red button people...
